FaZe's Counter-Strike division announced on Monday that it has parted ways with head coach Philipp Kubski (ID: NEO) effective immediately. They are currently searching for a new head coach and have appointed analyst Dominic Sividelski (ID: GruBy) to temporarily take over the team.
NEO, 38, is a legendary Polish CS player who won numerous championships with Virtus.pro, including the 2014 EMS One Katowice Championship, Gfinity 3, ESEA Season 18 Global Finals, CEVO Season 7, the 2015 ESL Dubai Invitational, CEVO Season 8, SL-i International Season 1, ELEAGUE Season 1, the 2016 DreamHack Bucharest Open, and the 2017 DreamHack Las Vegas Masters. He announced his retirement in April 2023 and officially transitioned to coaching for FaZe in July of the same year.
To date, NEO has led FaZe to a record of 274 wins and 216 losses. They also enjoyed a period of great success between 2023 and 2024, winning IEM Sydney, Thunderpick World Championship, CAC Asia Invitational, and IEM Chengdu.
However, FaZe went on a two-year title drought after winning IEM Chengdu in 2024. They have only managed a 3-9 record so far this season, and suffered consecutive defeats at BLAST Bounty Season 1, IEM Krakow, PGL Cluj-Napoca, and EPL Season 23 Stage 2.
According to the schedule, GruBy will make his coaching debut at the BLAST Rotterdam Open on March 18th. FaZe's current roster is as follows:
Commander/Rifleman: Finn Anderson (ID: karrigan)
Rifleman: David Chernansky (ID: frozen)
Sniper: Hervé Saucantz (ID: broky)
Rifleman: Yakub Pitrushevsky (ID: jcobbb)
Rifleman: Russell Vandulken (ID: Twistzz)
Interim Coach: Dominic Szyvidelski (ID: GruBy)
