May 21 - In Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, which saw the Oklahoma City Thunder lose 113-122 , Dylan Harper suffered a right hamstring injury in the third quarter and was forced to leave the game early.
Harper's injury comes as the team's star guard De'Aaron Fox is sidelined for two consecutive games. Fox has missed the last two Western Conference Finals games due to a high ankle sprain he suffered in the Western Conference Semifinals, and Harper was originally slated to start in his place.
According to ESPN , Harper will undergo an MRI in San Antonio on Thursday , and it is currently uncertain whether he will be able to play in Game 3 .
With 5 minutes and 25 seconds left in the third quarter , Harper fell to the ground and clutched his right leg after his layup attempt was blocked. He was then substituted off the court and returned to the locker room. He briefly returned to the bench before leaving the court again.
Head coach Mitch Johnson said after the game that there was no definitive update on the injury, but the team would continue to assess the situation. " It's a tough injury, and we need to wait for the medical results, " he said.
Harper scored 12 points in this game and contributed a well-rounded performance in Game 1 with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals, making him one of the Spurs' key playmakers in the backcourt.
