Milwaukee Bucks waived Cam Thomas after only signing him one month ago..

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Saturday that the Milwaukee Bucks have waived shooting guard Cam Thomas, ending their brief one-month working relationship.

According to Charania, while Thomas initially shone in his limited playing time, even scoring consistently, his performance declined, and he gradually faded from head coach Doc Rivers' key plans, eventually missing almost the entirety in several games.

After waiving Thomas, the Bucks will use the freed-up funds and cap space to turn two-way contract player, forward Pete Nance into a standard NBA player contract.

Nance has played 49 games this season, meaning he only has one more game remaining on his two-way contract before the team must convert it to an NBA player contract to ensure his continued playing time this season.

In those 49 games, Nance played 37, averaging 12.1 minutes, 4.5 points, and 2.2 rebounds, with a 47.9% three-point shooting percentage (71 attempts).

Due to the sensitive timing, even if Thomas is re-signed by another team after being waived, he will not be able to participate in this season's NBA postseason matches.

It's worth mentioning that this is the second time that Thomas had been waived this season.

The 24-year-old Thomas averaged 22.5 points per game in 25 appearances for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2023/24 season, despite playing only 25 games. Last season, he averaged 24 points per game.

Thomas became a restricted free agent last summer, but because he and the Nets failed to reach an agreement on a long-term contract, he signed a one-year qualifying offer with the Nets.

However, Thomas was waived by the Nets on February 5, 2026, and joined the Milwaukee Bucks three days later.
