Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has indicated that he may step down as head coach, but he is very willing to remain with the club in a different capacity in the future and be a member of the Manchester City family.
The final match of the season against Aston Villa will be Guardiola's last in charge of Manchester City. Speaking about the future, Guardiola said, "We've talked about it, and I said I hope to continue being a part of this club."
“I won’t make any decisions unless I’m the head coach, but I’ll be there to represent the club and the organization. I hope to stay with the club in a different role in the future. Not involved in day-to-day decisions, not in the spotlight, but behind the scenes.”
In tribute to the club's most successful manager, Manchester City has announced that the newly expanded North Stand will be officially named the "Pep Guardiola Stand".
Guardiola admitted he was speechless when he heard the news of this honor. He said, "Calduhn called me and said the club had made this decision. I love the feeling; my atmosphere or energy will stay there forever."
“In difficult times, when someone looks over there and sees Pep, I channel my energy into the team and the club. This is one of the highest honors I could ever receive. I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the club for everything they have done for me. My father will be here on Sunday; he is 94 years old, and it will be an incredible honor to see his name here.”
During his time managing Manchester City, Guardiola led the team to 20 trophies. Reflecting on this legendary journey, he said: "All the trophies are important. A few years ago, I told Noel Gallagher that we were a team that couldn't even win four games in a row, and now we've won four trophies in a row. It shows the incredible pace the club has taken."
