Danilo sets his sights on writing a new chapter with Brazil at the World Cup.

Brazil, the "Samba Army," previously announced its 2026 World Cup squad, and Danilo stated that experienced players can help younger players understand that difficult times will be over and look forward to starting a new chapter with the team in this World Cup.

The 34-year-old Danilo has played for top clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus, before joining Flamengo in January of last year.

Besides Danilo, other defenders called up by Ancelotti include Brehme, Gabriel, and Marquinhos.

In an interview, Danilo said, "I think the current situation of the national team is a true reflection of the Brazilian people. They have experienced hardship, risen from hardship countless times, and shown great resilience. They always keep moving forward, keep fighting, they laugh and cry, but in the end they celebrate all their achievements. This is also a source of motivation for me."

“We are a very young team, and the vast majority of our players play in Europe, where they have developed a very professional and mature mindset. I think we, the more experienced players, can contribute a spirit of dedication and sacrifice, while helping everyone understand that difficult times will always pass.”

When discussing the changes in the team, Danilo said, "This change actually started during the 2022 World Cup, and it's not just happening in Brazil, but also in the world of football. The key is to understand the distance relationships in the game, to understand how to make the team more threatening in attack, while also being prepared for defensive transitions."

"People's understanding of the full-back position has changed. Nowadays, it's rare for full-backs to be required to constantly sprint back and forth throughout the entire game. Now, the emphasis is more on balance and distance control, as well as pressing at the right time. We have players with different characteristics who can provide different solutions for different opponents."

In addition, before entering the World Cup group stage, Brazil will play two friendly matches against Panama and Egypt to help the players find their form.

Danilo continued, "I have always believed in the benefits of a regular lifestyle and good habits. I am where I am today because of years of hard work. I am very happy to be recognized, but at the same time, it also represents a huge responsibility."

"I will do my best to help the team create the most ideal conditions so that we can write a new and glorious chapter in the history of the World Cup in Brazil."
