Sky Sports' resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, exclusively reported on Thursday via his official X (Twitter) account that Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro is expected to join Inter Miami.
According to Romano, negotiations between Casemiro and Inter Miami are progressing smoothly and have even entered the final crucial stage. He has already reached an agreement with the club on wages, performance-related bonuses, and personal terms.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, both parties will reach an agreement on the final details, and the transfer will be completed before the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Romano added that despite receiving numerous offers from Saudi Pro League clubs, Casemiro has not accepted any.
He said that Casemiro has been in continuous negotiations with Inter Miami through his agent since March, and the reason for his decision is his desire to experience playing alongside, Lionel Messi, a fierce rival during his time at former club Real Madrid.
About Casemiro
The 34-year-old Casemiro was born on February 23, 1992, in São José dos Campos, Brazil. He is 1.85 meters tall, he plays as a defensive midfielder and holds dual Brazilian and Spanish citizenship.
Casemiro initially played for São Paulo before making his name at Real Madrid. He also had a loan spell at Porto.
In late August 2022, Casemiro joined Manchester United from Real Madrid for €60 million.
During his four-year spell with the Red Devils, Casemiro made 160 appearances for the Premier League giants in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists. During which, he helped the team win the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup once each, as well as reaching the UEFA Europa League final once.
