Mainz confirm they will not activate the buy-out clause of on-loan Bayern Munich forward Armindo Seib..

Mainz 05 announced on their official website on Tuesday that they will not activate the buy-out clause of on-loan Bayern Munich forward Armindo Seib.

According to Mainz's official statement, Seib will return to Bayern Munich at the end of the two-year loan spell at the end of the season. The club held a farewell ceremony for him before their final home game of the season last weekend.

Despite the impending end of their partnership, Mainz expressed their sincere gratitude for Seib's contributions and dedication during his time with the club.

About Armindo Seib

The 23-year-old Seib was born on February 17, 2003, in Halle-sur-Salle, Germany, and is 1.75 meters tall. He primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a right winger. He holds dual German and Mozambican citizenship.

Seib played in the youth academies of RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim during his childhood before joining Bayern Munich's youth academy in 2020. In October of the same year, he completed his first-team debut in a DFB-Pokal match, becoming one of the youngest players in Bayern Munich's history to debut in the DFB-Pokal, after Jamal Musiala and David Alaba.

However, frequent injuries severely hampered his career trajectory.

In July 2022, Sieb joined Greuther Fürth for a transfer fee of €50,000. In the summer of 2024, Bayern Munich brought him back to the Allianz Arena with a €1.5 million buy-back clause. However, shortly after his return, he was loaned-out to Mainz for two years.

In the past two seasons, Seib made 62 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. He mostly came off the bench and contributed to the team's successful relegation survival.
