The mage has been on hiatus for two years? Will one of the following – Yu the Great as support, Wang Wei, or Liu Er – become a mid-lane professional? (Part Two)

Hainuo wasn't entirely a true mid-laner; he was eventually reclassified as a top-lane hero. Looking back further, Haiyue was the true full-time mage, constantly adding new members to the support and warrior classes in recent years. Is the number of mid-lane players really that outrageous? As a veteran mage, with over ten years of game operation, most of them are doing quite well. Diaochan got the rare "Peerless" skin, Tanji and Angela's skins sold well, Nuwa was redesigned, and two heavyweight limited-edition skins were released during the Year of the Snake, creating the illusion that the class is busy with operations.

Mid-lane underdog: Not valid

Calling it a niche game is impossible. The female market is huge. Don't be fooled by the fact that Honor of Kings is a competitive game; after its transformation, female players make up a large proportion of the player base. Their preferred roles tend to be mid-lane and roaming. The "bush trio" (referring to three female heroes in the bushes) consistently maintain a pick rate of around 30%. Whenever a new look is released, sales immediately skyrocket. Whether purchased personally or as a gift from a boyfriend, the potential to generate huge profits is limitless. The downside is that players tend to stick to one main hero and play from low ranks to the highest rank, then call it quits. Even among professional mid-laners, there are distinctions between high-level exclusives and more common choices. Plus, with pre-selected lanes, they are guaranteed to play their ideal mage. The reason that mid and support heroes are less popular and therefore discontinued is untenable.

Low skin sales: Not true

Mages appeal to both men and women; there's no rule that they're exclusively for women. A large number of male players still crave the ultimate explosive power of mages, enjoying the thrill of instant kills. Their skins boast beautiful effects and ethereal beauty, their looks always at their peak, captivating players who swoon over their charm. Even the most expensive rare skins are readily available, while the cheapest ones are snapped up for a mere 6 yuan. Not only are the quantities high, but the quality isn't necessarily low either. There are countless legendary skins, rare skins, and limited-edition rare skins. Using this as a reason to stop updates is equally untenable.

Nobody knows what happened, but in the current version, mages are really not as fun as imagined. They have to run around to two lanes, forcing the development of other lane strategies. They are too fragile, so tank items have to be introduced. If we really want a new mage, it will probably be a port from overseas servers. It's better than nothing than not having one at all.
