Napoli manager Antonio Conte will leave this summer, with Maurizio Sarri potentially becoming his successor.

Several Italian media outlets, including Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, confirmed on Tuesday that Napoli manager Antonio Conte will officially step down at the end of this season. He is considered a strong contender for the position of Italy's national team coach, which has been vacant since Gennaro Gattuso's departure.

The 56-year-old Conte has led Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan to four Serie A titles, one Italian Super Cup, one Premier League title, and one FA Cup, and is considered an outstanding representative of Italian coaches. Since taking over Napoli in July 2024, he has led the team to a record of 53 wins, 19 draws, and 18 losses, winning one Serie A title and one Italian Super Cup.

However, Conte has now decided to terminate his contract with Napoli, which had only one year remaining. According to an agreement reached two years ago, this termination will not involve any financial compensation.

With Conte's departure imminent, Napoli's search for a new manager has quietly begun. They currently favor Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri to succeed Conte, and are willing to offer him a "2+1" contract with an annual salary of approximately 3.5 million euros.

The 67-year-old Sarri began his coaching career in 1990 and led Juventus and Chelsea to Serie A and Europa League titles respectively. He will take over Lazio for the second time in June 2025, and currently leads the team with a record of 16 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses.
