The 2026 ESL One Birmingham Dota 2 Championship is in full swing, and on the second day of the group stage that just ended, the multinational team Aurora Gaming, composed of top players from Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia, delivered an outstanding performance.
Aurora Gaming boasts an impressive 7-1 record, firmly holding the top spot in Group B and achieving the best overall record of the tournament so far. After a solid 3-1 start on the first day, Aurora Gaming unleashed their full potential on the second day.
The team unleashed its full offensive power, sweeping back-to-back victories against formidable opponents Nigma Galaxy and Xtreme Gaming. These two clean 2-0 wins not only showcased the team's excellent tactical execution but also helped them establish a commanding lead in Group B.
Aurora Gaming's dream start owes much to Indonesian mid-laner Mikoto. In the team's eight games so far, Mikoto has delivered impressive stats, averaging 11.75 kills, 12.38 assists, and only 1.25 deaths per game.
Especially in the second game against Xtreme Gaming, Mikoto, playing Storm Spirit, dominated the field, achieving a perfect stat line of 14 kills, 0 deaths, and 14 assists, taking over the game.
As a key stop in the 2025-2026 ESL Pro Tour (EPT) season, the Birmingham event brings together 16 top teams from around the world to compete for a total prize pool of $1 million and valuable points that will qualify them for the 2026 Esports World Cup.
With the group stage halfway through, Aurora Gaming, currently in superb form, has become one of the most watched favorites to win the championship. Whether they can continue this dominance into the knockout stage is something all Dota 2 players are eagerly anticipating.
