May 17 - According to ESPN , Jalen Williams, who missed six consecutive games due to a grade 1 left hamstring strain, recently stated on his personal video channel that he has basically recovered and is expected to return to the court in the Western Conference Finals.
“ I’m glad I didn’t rush back, ” Williams said. “ The team was already up 3-0 against the Lakers , so there was no need to risk coming back early. I’ve even rested a few days longer than originally planned to ensure I’m healthy for the next round. ”
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark DeGnott revealed after practice that Williams' recovery is " continuously progressing , " but did not clarify whether he will be able to play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. However, Williams has already participated in team practice.
Williams missed several games this season due to wrist surgery and a hamstring injury, playing only 33 games in the regular season , but he had a standout performance at the start of the playoffs. He then pulled his hamstring again and left the game early in a match against the Suns.
Speaking about the team's current situation, Williams said, " I'm never worried about the team's strength; I'm more concerned about when I can truly help the team. The roster depth is great now, so I don't need to play through injury like I did last year. Of course, I want to play, but only after I'm fully healthy. "
