Marcelino: Although the team was very aggressive in physical duels, their performance in ball control was still lacking.

Villarreal head coach Marcelino García Toral analyzed the team's 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca at a press conference held at the Somoix Stadium. This result further solidified Villarreal's third-place position in the league standings.  

Marcelino García Toral stated, "We hope to finish the season in third place; that's our goal. This point gives us a six-point lead, and there are still nine points to fight for in the season. In the final round, we will also face Atlético Madrid directly."  

“Throughout the match, we didn’t lack intensity in physical duels, but our ball control wasn’t ideal. We failed to win enough physical battles in the attacking third, and our final pass was also lacking in quality. Real Mallorca is a very aggressive high-pressing team; they will force you to build up play near your own penalty area.”  

"The weather was quite hot, which did have some impact on the game, but we had anticipated that before the match. Both teams' players put in a tremendous effort, and their performances deserve recognition."  

Speaking about the upcoming match against Sevilla, Marcelino García Toral said the team's goals are clear. He stated, "We want to win to move closer to third place. We're back at home, and we've been consistently strong there. Sevilla are also fighting for multiple goals, and although they've recently won and have a better chance of avoiding relegation, we still have to win to achieve our objectives."
