American reporter: Curry currently has no plans to retire and will discuss a contract extension with the Warriors this summer.

According to NBA insider Brett Siegel on Wednesday, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry currently has no plans to retire. The 38-year-old has made it clear that he hopes to play at least 20 more seasons in the NBA.

Since being drafted by the Warriors with the 7th overall pick in 2009, Curry has played 1,069 games in his 17-year NBA career, averaging 24.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 34.0 minutes per game. He has amassed numerous individual accolades, including two regular season MVP awards, two scoring titles, one steals title, 12 All-Star selections, and four All-NBA selections. He also led the Warriors to four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), and was unanimously named Finals MVP in 2022.

Stephen Curry's contract with the Warriors has only one year remaining, with a salary of approximately $62.59 million next season. With Steve Kerr's contract extension finalized, the Warriors' management, led by Joe Lacob, has made Curry's retention a top priority this summer. The two sides are expected to reach a contract agreement before the 2026/27 season, with a potential "1+1" contract including a player option.

Siegel further pointed out that Curry will never part ways with the Warriors. He firmly believes he still has the ability to lead the Warriors to the highest level of competition and is eager to win another championship trophy.
