May 17th - According to the Associated Press, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 139-109 , advancing to the Western Conference Finals with a 4-2 series victory. The Spurs will face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite being considered " better than expected , " the team emphasized focusing only on the present.
Head coach Mitch Johnson said: "We've never discussed what kind of team we'll become or what we'll do. We only know that we have huge potential and we'll strive to be the best team."
