Jarrod Bowen admitted that the team's overall performance over the past two seasons has indeed been less than ideal, and therefore he understands the fans' disappointment.

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen said he and his teammates deserved criticism after the team's 1-3 away defeat to Newcastle United. This loss has made the team's relegation battle in the Premier League even more precarious. Against Newcastle, West Ham started slowly, made frequent defensive errors, and missed several key opportunities, ultimately leaving disappointed.

With the league entering its final stage, West Ham United will host Leeds United in their final match, while needing Tottenham to lose their last two games for a chance to avoid relegation. Captain Jarrod Bowen stated that while he has often felt the support and applause from the fans in the past, the team's overall performance over the last two seasons has been unsatisfactory, therefore the fans' dissatisfaction is completely understandable.

Jarrod Bowen said: "We completely understand the anger in the stands. The team has been fighting relegation for two consecutive seasons, so it's not surprising that the fans are reacting like this, because we haven't had enough happy moments this season."

"There are many reasons for the current situation, but the most fundamental problem is that our overall performance has fallen far short of the standards set in the past few seasons. Previously, the team was able to participate in European competitions and maintain a high ranking in the league, but now we are in a relegation battle, which is indeed disappointing."

"Therefore, I completely understand why the fans are disappointed, because the team has not rewarded them with a good enough performance. We have not played well enough, and now we even need to rely on the results of other teams' matches to keep our hopes alive in the final round."

Jarrod Bowen was particularly disappointed with the team's poor start. West Ham conceded two goals in the first 20 minutes and quickly found themselves on the back foot. He said: "It was a very tough game today, but we can only blame ourselves, especially after conceding two goals in the first 20 minutes."

"The team didn't press hard enough. We were a step too slow in both our timing when pressing and our overall defensive reaction, and we kept making mistakes. We've made too many errors and are now down two goals early again, which will make the game extremely difficult."

When discussing the team's execution issues, Jarrod Bowen admitted, "Honestly, I don't know how to explain it all. We can certainly find various reasons, but the fact is, the team had a clear game plan before the game. We've been preparing for this game for the past week and we know what we want to achieve, but once we got into the game, we didn't show any of that."

"There may be many reasons for the result, but as a whole, we must take responsibility. We knew before the game that if Newcastle United were given a chance, they would put continuous pressure on us with the home atmosphere and the support of the fans, and the game ultimately went in that direction."

"No matter what situation we are in, we must show dignity, fighting spirit and the attitude of fighting for the club. The team crest on the front of the jersey always represents the most important thing, and we must bring the fans a game that we truly give our all."

"The fans have been supporting us every week, and their performance has always been impeccable, but the team hasn't given them enough this season . Therefore, no matter what the situation, we cannot give up. Whatever the final result, the team must respond next week."
