Team Spirit explodes in DreamLeague S29

After a slump at the start of the 2026 season, Team Spirit, a two-time TI champion Dota 2 team, is regaining its former top form.

With the roster changes completed last week, Team Spirit has taken the lead in the group stage of DreamLeague Season 29, securing a playoff spot in advance.

The team's return to form owes much to the addition of new player Not Me. Team Spirit has always been known for its well-coordinated late-game team fights, and Not Me's arrival has injected a strong offensive edge into the team.

As a player who excels at picking aggressive heroes like Rubick, Clockwerk, and Xayah, Not Me successfully revitalized the entire team by constantly roaming the map and initiating direct confrontations, allowing his teammates to engage in team fights, the kind of battles they are best at winning.

Another key change is that rue has moved to the position 5. With TI and the eSports World Cup approaching, frequently changing the two support players would disrupt team synergy.

Rue's style leans towards stability. His transition to position 5 not only preserved the team's synergy, but his signature heroes like Tusk and Dark Seer, often considered "position 4/5" heroes, perfectly suited his new role. More importantly, his consistency ensured an advantage in the laning phase, allowing him to achieve significant gold gains in conjunction with core player Yatoro.

Currently, Team Spirit has a 5-0 record in the series and a 10-1 record on game score. While it's possible this is just a honeymoon period for the new roster, their comeback victory against Team Liquid in the first game certainly showcased the prowess of the original championship-winning lineup.
