After Brazil suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat to France in an international friendly match, head coach Carlo Ancelotti displayed a firm stance on coaching in a post-match interview.
The Italian coach chose to avoid mentioning the fans' chants for the absent star Neymar during the match, instead focusing all the praise and attention on the players who fought hard on the field that day.
When asked about fans chanting Neymar's name, Ancelotti refused to be swayed. He stated clearly: "We should focus on the players who come here, play, give their all, and fight hard. I'm satisfied with their performance."
In response to criticism that the attacking duo of Vinicius and Rafinha lacked dynamism, Ancelotti offered a strong defense. He revealed the unavoidable decision to substitute Rafinha at halftime: "Rafinha actually played exceptionally well."
“He was extremely dangerous off the ball, but he developed muscle discomfort at the end of the first half, so we had to make a substitution. Vinicius is always trying to create something different for the team. A striker can't score every time, but the effort both of them put in on the field is undeniable.”
Although they failed to win the friendly match, Ancelotti was pleased with the team's comeback in the second half. He emphasized that the game strengthened the team's belief: "Today's game made it very clear to me that we are fully capable of competing with the world's top teams."
"We fought until the very last moment, even forcing our opponents to rely on stalling to secure the victory. I have full confidence in this team, and we will give our all to fight for the World Cup."
