Unai Emery believes the team played aggressively and proactively, and the players showed a strong will to win.

Following Aston Villa's 2-2 draw with Burnley on Sunday, Unai Emery said the point brought back from Turf Moor was far from satisfactory. Aston Villa dominated possession for most of the match. After Jadon Anthony opened the scoring for the home side, Aston Villa came from behind to take a 2-1 lead.  

Just two minutes later, Zian Fleming quickly equalized for Aston Villa, and Ollie Watkins then put them back in the lead. Unai Emery believed Aston Villa should have won the game, but he was disappointed with the number of chances they gave Burnley.  

After the match, Unai Emery said in an interview: "I want to thank the players for their hard work. After the team successfully advanced to the Europa League final on Thursday, we still fought hard for points today. We should have gotten more and deserved to win the game, but we gave the opponent three very obvious scoring opportunities, and they took two of them."  

"Giving the opponent such clear scoring opportunities comes at a high cost to us. But at the same time, we also created enough chances to win the game. We scored a goal that was ruled offside, so the game was very close. The team created a lot of chances in attack and won quite a few corners. I think we played with a strong desire to win, and the players showed a strong hunger for the three points."  

With three games remaining in the season, the Aston Villa manager is eager to end the season on a high note, while also setting his sights on the upcoming match against Liverpool. He is very proud that his players are managing to balance domestic competitions with the Europa League final campaign, and he can feel the fans' anticipation and excitement for the upcoming games.  

Unai Emery added: "I am very pleased because reaching the Europa League final is a remarkable achievement in itself, and to finish in the top five in such a competitive Premier League is even more gratifying. We can see examples of other teams that compete in European competitions while maintaining consistent performance in the Premier League is not an easy task."
