Despite the disappointing result, Vitor Pereira remained very proud of his players' fighting spirit on the field.

Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira said he was still proud of the fighting spirit his players showed in their final away game of the season against Manchester United. Despite the disappointing defeat at Old Trafford, goals from Morato and Morgan Gibbs-White gave Nottingham Forest opportunities to gain points.  

Manchester United's second goal sparked some controversy after the match, as Brian Mbourne appeared to have handled the ball before Matthäus Cunha scored. Vitor Pereira admitted that the decision ultimately affected the result, which was regrettable, but he still praised the players' fighting spirit and efforts to earn points.  

After the match, Vitor Pereira said: "It's really regrettable because that decision ultimately changed the outcome of the game. In the final stages, we launched a frantic counterattack, which caused the team's formation to lose its balance. We have our own goals and ambitions; we always wanted to score goals and hoped to take something away from this game."  

“This isn’t really my preferred style of play, because the game became very open in the final stages, and the opponent was very threatening on the counter-attack. However, we have to accept the final result. The team kept trying to regain balance and kept getting the ball into the penalty area, hoping to score, but unfortunately we couldn’t.”  

"When the game reaches that stage, it's really difficult for the head coach to completely control the situation, because the players are playing more based on their emotions and fighting spirit. However, they ultimately showed their character; they were hungry for victory, they wanted to compete, and they kept trying to score goals. Next, we will start preparing for the next game and strive to win at home. I am very proud of the players, and once again, I am proud of the fans, because they have always done their best to support the team in earning points."
