The 37th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season will take place , with Liverpool traveling to face Aston Villa. Manager Sloot stated that playing against Emery's team is always very difficult, and fatigue will not be an excuse.
Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in their last key match, thanks to an assist from Ngumoha for Hrafinbeh's goal. After a run of three wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five games, Liverpool currently sit fourth in the league table with 59 points.
For Aston Villa, Emery's team drew 2-2 with Burnley in the last league match and is ranked 5th in the standings with 59 points. Therefore, the team that wins this match will secure a Champions League spot.
Liverpool manager Sloot said: "Aston Villa played on Sunday and we'll be playing them tomorrow, so I don't think fatigue will be an excuse. I think one of the reasons they've reached the Europa League final and performed so well in the Premier League is because they have a huge squad and a lot of great players, and many of them are at the same level."
"Without such squad depth, it would have been impossible to reach the Europa League final and maintain this level of performance in the Premier League. The good thing for them is that they only have one or two players injured, which isn't a lot. Therefore, I think they are fully prepared for this match."
Speaking about Liverpool's poor away form this season, Sloot said, "That's one of the reasons we're in this position right now. We were hoping to finish higher and perform better this season, but we've dropped too many points away from home."
"Perhaps the same thing will keep repeating itself at the end of the season, but we drop points away from home, often after playing European matches, which are usually the games Liverpool can win. Now we're playing Aston Villa away from home, and it doesn't really matter whether it's after playing European matches or after a week of rest, because it's always a tough game."
Slaughter also stated, "However, we dropped points in some away games where we usually don't lose, and this has happened too many times this season after the European competitions, which is one of the reasons why we haven't secured Champions League qualification yet."
