After advancing to the Western Conference Finals, Gilgeous-Alexander insists the Thunder's ultimate goal is not yet achieved.

The Oklahoma City Thunder swept the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the 2025/26 NBA playoffs semifinals to advance to the Western Conference Finals. However, Gilgeous-Alexander recently stated in an interview that the team has not yet achieved any major goals.

In a key game of the fourth round of the playoff semifinals, the Oklahoma City Thunder, thanks to contributions from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ajay Mitchell, and Chet Holmgren, narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 115-110 on the road, securing their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.

Speaking about their opponent, the Los Angeles Lakers, Gilgeous-Alexander said, "They used double-teams in the first three games, and some semi-double-teams in the last game, but they almost stopped using double-teams in the fourth round. Opponents will make adjustments and use different methods to limit them. After the first game, you can know what they are doing and then analyze based on that."

In addition, Gilgeous-Alexander stated that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' performance remains amazing. Gilgeous-Alexander said, "It's interesting; he's still extremely dominant, and he's been a key player we've studied throughout the series."
