Cucurella hopes Chelsea can regain more confidence by ending their losing streak.

Chelsea drew 1-1 with Liverpool in the 36th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season after Enzo equalized. In an interview, Cucurella stated that he hopes the team can build confidence from this draw and aim for the FA Cup title.

In the 6th minute of the match, Ngumoha passed the ball back to Hrafinbech at the edge of the penalty area, who then unleashed a long-range shot that found the back of the net, giving Liverpool a dream start with a 1-0 lead.

In the 35th minute, Chelsea won a free kick, and Enzo scored directly, helping Chelsea equalize the score at 1-1.

Chelsea ultimately held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Ending their losing streak, Chelsea currently sit 9th in the league table with 49 points.

Chelsea defender Cucurella said, "I think the team reacted very well after the last game, and I think we proved once again that as long as we are willing to fight and stick together, we are a very good team. Hopefully, this draw will help us build more confidence. I think at certain stages we deserved a win, but we need to build on that and move forward."

“In recent games, we have always conceded goals very early, which is something we need to improve. We must get into the game as quickly as possible, but I think the team’s response has been really good since then.”

Cucurella pointed out, "We basically controlled the game in the first half, created many chances, and scored. The second half was more of a close contest. But overall, we put in a lot of effort and hope to build on this performance to continue improving."

“We are a very good team with a lot of high-level players. We did have some difficult moments, but we must stick together. Being 0-1 down after just 10 minutes at Anfield is not an easy situation to handle, but the team’s response was really excellent.”

On the other hand, Chelsea will travel to Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Cucurella continued, "I think we played a very good game, but that's not enough because I want to win. However, we still have a few days to prepare for the game. The final is the final, and the most important thing is to win this championship. We must believe in ourselves. Many of my teammates won two championships last season, so the team is full of strength."

“We just need to adjust some details, boost our confidence, and prepare well for the game, because I believe the team always performs well in such important matches. So hopefully we can play a great game and win the championship.”
