Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town announced on Tuesday that they have officially exercised their option to buy Reims loanee Cedric Kipre. With Ipswich Town's promotion to the Premier League, the €4.5 million buy-out clause in Kipre's contract has been automatically activated.
The official confirmation also stated that the two parties have signed an agreement until June 30, 2028.
The 29-year-old Kipre came through the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy and has previously played for Coby Town, Motherwell, Wigan Athletic, West Bromwich Albion, Real Charleroi, Cardiff City, and Reims. He made his debut in one of Europe's top five leagues at Reims, making 28 appearances across all competitions and contributing one assist.
In July 2025, Kipre was loaned from Reims to Ipswich Town for one season. He mainly plays as a center-back at Ipswich Town, making 35 appearances to date, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists, making a significant contribution to the team's return to the Premier League after a year's absence.
After completing the signing, Kipre said, "After achieving so much together, I am delighted to officially become a member of this great club."
“From the very first day I joined, I have loved this place. The warm welcome I received made me never feel like a loan player, so I am very happy to officially become a member of the team.”
“I can’t wait for the next season. It’s very meaningful to represent the club in the Premier League. It has always been my dream, and I am very happy.”
