Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President Samir Saud confirmed on Thursday that Carlo Ancelotti will sign a contract extension immediately after the current international break.
The 66-year-old Ancelotti has managed several top European clubs, leading them to 5 Champions League titles, 3 Club World Cup titles, 5 UEFA Super Cup titles, 1 FIFA Intercontinental Cup title, 1 Serie A title, 1 Coppa Italia title, 1 Italian Super Cup title, 1 Premier League title, 1 FA Cup title, 1 Community Shield title, 1 Ligue 1 title, 2 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey titles, 2 Spanish Super Cup titles, 1 Bundesliga title, and 2 German Super Cup titles. He will take charge of Brazil in May 2025 and lead the team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals during his tenure.
The Brazilian Football Confederation is very satisfied with Ancelotti's coaching performance and has decided to extend his contract, which was originally scheduled to expire in July. In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Samir Saud stated clearly: "The matter was actually agreed upon long ago. We communicated in person before leaving Brazil and agreed to sign a new contract after the international break so that we would have more time to build a legacy."
He added, "We will announce the relevant information after the international break. At this stage, we are focusing on the friendly matches. It is a pity that we cannot field the players closest to the starting lineup, but everyone will give their all when they are on the field because the World Cup is just around the corner. We are full of confidence."
According to multiple media reports, Ancelotti's annual salary will remain at €10 million after his contract extension. His four assistants who joined the Brazilian national team are confirmed to receive salary increases in their new contracts.
