Alex Scott: This achievement belongs not only to the team, but also to everyone who has supported and accompanied the club.

Alex Scott described his feelings about helping Bournemouth qualify for European competition for the first time as "incredible." This marks the club's first appearance in European football in its 127-year history. The fan-voted Player of the Season played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City, helping his team secure at least a top-seven finish in the league.

This result means that Bournemouth from Dorset has secured at least a Europa League spot for the 2026/27 season. Meanwhile, the team still has a chance to compete for Champions League qualification in the final round of the league.

Speaking about the team's successful promotion to European competition, Alex Scott said: "It's incredibly significant. For a club that was once struggling in League Two and even on the verge of bankruptcy, this achievement is unbelievable."

"It's incredible to have come all the way from the lower leagues to the Premier League and become one of the top teams. The fans deserve this moment, and everyone involved with the club deserves to enjoy this achievement."

“We have been working toward this goal ever since the head coach came to the team three years ago. The upcoming European campaign will be a new challenge for the club, but we are ready and looking forward to it.”

In the match, Elio Júnior Klóri gave Bournemouth the lead with a brilliant first-half goal. However, Erling Haaland later equalized for Manchester City, and the two sides eventually drew 1-1.

Alex Scott said: "They are one of the strongest teams in the league, and we fought them to the very end. Players like Erling Haaland usually take advantage of those opportunities."

“We are very happy to have qualified for European competition, as this is one of the team’s most important goals this season. However, we are still a little disappointed with the final draw, as I think the team had a chance to win the game and get three points.”
