◤Premier League◢ Kai Havertz scored as Arsenal narrowly defeated Burnley with a 1-0 victory over Burnley..


Arsenal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley in Monday's matchday 37 of the 2025/26 Premier League season match at the Emirates Stadium.


In the first half, Trossar's long-range shot hit the post, and Saka was fouled in the box but no penalty was awarded due to being caught offside; Havertz then headed the ball into the net. In the second half, Eze's half-volley hit the crossbar, and Havertz's controversial foul on Ugochukwu, which resulted in only a yellow card was issued, sparked controversy. Ultimately, Arsenal won 1-0 against Burnley. After this round of matches, the Gunners continue to lead the talbe with 82 points, needing only one more victory to lift the trophy; already relegated Clarets sit in 19th place with 21 points.


First Half


In the 15th minute, Eberechi Eze made a straight pass from the left wing. Leandro Trossard quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from just outside the penalty area. Unfortunately, his shot struck the bottom left corner of the post and bounced off! Arsenal missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock early!


In the 34th minute, Kai Havertz crossed into the box from the byline at the left wing. Bukayo Saka quickly followed up and upon receiving the ball at a very close distance in the box, he was brought down by Lucas Pires. The VAR assistant referee immediately intervened. After reviewing the VAR, referee ruled that Saka was caught offside, thus they decided not to award Arsenal a penalty!


3 minutes later, Arsenal won a crucial corner opportunity. Saka took the corner by crossing it into the box. Havertz rose high and headed the ball into the net, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead! This was the Germany international striker's 35th goal for Arsenal in all competitions!


At halftime, Arsenal temporarily enters the break leading Burnley by 1-0.


Second Half


Both teams switched sides as the match continued after the break. In the 54th minute, Christian Mosquera crossed into the box from the right wing. Upon receiving the pass, Eze half-volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box, but his shot unfortunately struck the crossbar and bounced off! Arsenal missed a golden opportunity to extend their lead!


Shortly after, Havertz delivered an overhead horizontall pass from the byline at the left side of the box. Eze rose high and attempted with a header from a very close distance in the box, however his effort was deflected by Maxime Estève and then saved by Max Weiss.


In the 67th minute, Havertz retaliated by fouling Lesley Ugochukwu who had successfully intercepted the ball in his own back half, but the referees only issued a yellow card, a decision that sparked huge controversy.


Neither side managed to make subsquent significant breakthrough again. When the final whistle is blown, Arsenal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley.
