Official announcement: Bayern Munich extends contracts with goalkeepers Neuer and Ulreich until June 2027.

Bayern Munich released a statement on Friday confirming the extension of the contracts of two goalkeepers that were originally set to expire this summer. They have each extended the contracts of 40-year-old captain Manuel Neuer and 37-year-old Sven Ulreich for another year, until June 30, 2027.

Neuer has played for Bayern Munich since 2011, making 597 appearances and keeping 269 clean sheets. He has also won 33 titles with the team, including two Champions League titles, two Club World Cup titles, two UEFA Super Cup titles, 13 Bundesliga titles, six German Cup titles, and eight German Super Cup titles.

After finalizing the contract extension, Neuer said: "After a long period of careful consideration, I am very happy with my decision. Everything here is just right: with this team, we can beat any opponent; I enjoy training every day on Säbener Street and am playing at my best. In our goalkeeping team, everyone is always united, constantly improving, inspiring each other, and preparing as much as possible for the game."

Ulreich, who also renewed his contract with Neuer, said: "I am very happy. I feel great, I am still passionate about football - and I have fallen in love with Bayern Munich. We have a dream squad and an excellent coaching staff, and there is fun to be had every day, especially in our goalkeeping team. It is great to see everything improving, and I believe we will still have a chance to compete for all the honors next season."

Ulreich has played for Bayern Munich since 2015, and even started for Neuer when Neuer was still recovering from a broken leg. To date, he has made 104 appearances for Bayern, winning one Champions League title, two Club World Cup titles, one UEFA Super Cup title, ten Bundesliga titles, three German Cup titles, and six German Super Cup titles with the team.

With this contract extension, Bayern Munich has successfully secured the future of two legendary goalkeepers. Bayern president Herbert Hainer stated, "Manuel Neuer holds a very special place among the many outstanding goalkeepers in Bayern Munich's history: he is not only a symbol of one generation, but also an iconic figure spanning two eras. As captain, he is an excellent role model both on and off the pitch. We are proud of the way he has shaped the club for over a decade. Keep it up!"

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dresen added: “Manuel Neuer is one of the most successful signings in our club’s history. He has made nearly 600 appearances for Bayern, and now we will be entering our 16th season together – that speaks volumes about his extraordinary importance. Manuel constantly pushes the limits of goalkeeping. Even at 40, he continues to surpass himself. For many years to come, people will continue to talk about this goalkeeper, this captain, and his personal charisma. We are delighted that he and the synonym for reliability, Sven Ulreich, will continue to play for us for another season. This goalkeeping partnership will surely go down in history.”
