McFarlane: Daily hard training is Chelsea's only salvation

Chelsea are facing the most severe crisis of the season. After suffering six consecutive league defeats and falling to ninth place, manager Callum McFarlane issued a somber warning at today's press conference.
McFarlane believes the team's current performance is far from meeting expectations. He emphasizes that the only way for the team to regain face and compete for a European spot next season is through daily hard training at the Cobham training ground.
Chelsea's recent form has been disastrous, plummeting from fifth to ninth in the league standings. While a victory against Leeds United at Wembley to reach the FA Cup final offered a glimmer of hope, the subsequent defeat to Nottingham Forest brought the team back to reality.
In a pre-match interview, McFarlane stated bluntly: "We know the historical standards of this club, and we are clearly falling behind at the moment. The remaining four league matches are all do-or-die battles."
Despite external criticism, McFarlane insisted that the team was not without foundation. He observed that the players maintained a high level of enthusiasm in the gym and training ground, but the problem lay in their inability to translate training performance into results on the field.
This weekend's away game against Liverpool will be a test of Chelsea's ability to prevent a decline. McFarlane urged his players to rediscover the level of performance they had at the beginning of the season: "Everyone at Anfield—the players, the coaching staff, and the club—is fired up. We need to play aggressively at Anfield and win back our dignity."
For Chelsea, their European dream for the 2026-27 season is not completely shattered, but if they cannot regain their form in the last four rounds, a completely failed season awaits them.
