Riot Games has officially announced that the League of Legends Game Changers: Rising (LGC) tournament will return to the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region in 2026.
This year's tournament has not only been significantly extended in terms of schedule, but also features innovative competition formats that provide female players with a solid ladder to the pinnacle of their professional careers. The season will kick off on May 29th and continue until October.
Unlike previous years, this year's tournament will use a multi-stage points system to select the top 6 teams from the overall leaderboard to advance to the playoffs in October. To broaden talent channels, outstanding teams from inclusivity tournaments across EMEA countries will also be invited to participate, collectively strengthening the ecosystem link to the professional path.
This year's LGC Rising has entered into a strategic partnership with NEO, aiming to create a sustainable esports ecosystem. Notably, for the first time, the official broadcasting rights have been opened to community broadcasters and secondary commentators, encouraging fans to participate in the event from diverse perspectives.
This is not just about winning a trophy, but about eliminating gender bias and preventing the recurrence of gender discrimination scandals like those that occurred with Caltys and Colomblbl.
Team registration for the opening match is now officially open. Teams with professional aspirations can submit their applications through the official portal, taking their first step towards the October playoffs. More details regarding the schedule and points allocation will be released soon.
Riot Games stated that by giving female players more opportunities to compete at a high level, the esports ecosystem will become more inclusive and pure.
