Porto officially triggered the buyout clause of on-loan Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior..

Porto announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have permanently acquired the rights to Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, who is on-loan at the club.

According to Porto's official statement, Kiwior has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club, which runs until the summer of 2030. His release clause is set at €70 million, and Arsenal will receive a €2 million share of any potential future transfer fee.

With this transfer completed, all fake news claiming that Kiwior would be joining AC Milan have been naturally rubbished.

About Jakub Kiwior

The 26-year-old Jakub Kiwior was born on February 15, 2000, in Tikırık, Poland. He is 1.89 meters tall and primarily plays as a center-back, but can also play as a left-back or defensive midfielder.

Kiwior played for the youth academies of several non-league clubs in Tyrrhen from a young age. He joined the GKS Tychy youth academy in 2012 and the Anderlecht youth academy in 2016, but was released by the latter in 2018.

After leaving Anderlecht, Kiwior joined Železiarne Podbrezová on a free transfer and made his first-team debut in February 2019.

The following August, Kiwior moved to Žilina for €20,000.

During his two-year spell at Žilina, due to the club's financial difficulties, Kiwior received very limited playing time. However, he did not give up; instead, his excellent performances attracted the attention of several mid to smaller clubs in Europe's top five leagues.

On the 2021 summer transfer window deadline day, Kiwior joined Spezia for €2.4 million.

In late January 2023, Kiwior joined Arsenal for £21 million.

During his two years with the Gunners, Kiwior won the English Community Shield once with the Premier League giants.

In the summer of 2025, Kiwior joined Porto on-loan with an option to buy.

This season, so far, Kiwior has made 38 appearances for the Dragões in all competitions, providing 2 assists, and helped the team win the Portuguese Primeira Liga title.
