Wimbledon and Yamama set a new NBA playoff record with 12 blocks in a single game.

May 5th - According to NBA.com, Victor Wimbledonyama recorded 12 blocks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals, setting a new NBA playoff record for most blocks in a single game.

This record had remained unbroken since the introduction of shot-by-shot statistics in the 1973-74 season, previously held jointly by Mark Eaton (1985), Hakeem Olajuwon (1990), and Andrew Bynum (2012), all three having recorded 10 blocks in a single game. Viktor Axelsen raised the record to 12 in this game, setting a new defensive benchmark in league playoff history.

During this regular season, Wahlbanyama averaged 3.1 blocks per game and has already been named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. As the 2024 Rookie of the Year, his defensive impact continues to grow.
