Kai Havertz, the German striker who plays for Premier League giants Arsenal, recently spoke in an interview about overcoming his injury and returning to the German national team, saying he is ready to play a full 90 minutes.
The 26-year-old Havertz suffered a hamstring injury during training last February, causing him to miss many matches. He then suffered another injury in the first round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Arsenal's match against Manchester United, thus sidelining him for several more months.
However, so far this season, Havertz has contributed two goals for Arteta's team in the UEFA Champions League.
In addition, Nagelsmann's Germany will travel to St. Jakob-Park to play a friendly match against Switzerland.
Speaking about the long recovery period and his feelings about being re-selected for the German national team, Havertz shared, "For me personally, it was a very difficult period, and it wasn't easy to get through it. I'm really happy to be back here and with the team."
“I miss my teammates very much, and I also miss the time I spent here, playing for the national team again and singing the national anthem together. That’s why returning here after such a long time means a lot to me.”
Havertz also said, "For me, this experience has been like a rollercoaster, and I could clearly feel that I had missed a whole year. But now I feel great and am ready to play a full 90 minutes again in the future."
