Sheep Esports exclusively reported on Wednesday that French ADC player Caliste is expected to renew his contract with Karmine Corp.
According to the report, both parties have agreed on personal terms and are expected to sign a new two-year contract until the end of the 2028 season.
G2 also expressed strong interest in signing Caliste, but the 19-year-old prodigy chose to stay with Karmine Corp, a team he widely praised in a March interview.
It's worth mentioning that Caliste's original contract with Karmine Corp, which he joined in 2023, was set to expire in November 2026. With the renewal, he is expected to become the team's star player for the next five years.
This also means that Karmine Corp will become the second team in the LEC to secure their ADC player for next year.
Previously, before Karmine Corp and Caliste's contract renewal, Heretics was the first and only team in the league to confirm their ADC player for next year.
Heretics previously reached an agreement with Misa to sign Korean ADC player Hype.
As part of the deal, their Korean support player Way will be traded to Misa.
However, Hype will currently remain on-loan at Misa and may not officially become a member of Heretics until before the 2027 Summer Split at the earliest.
Caliste was recruited by Karmine Corp after their disappointing ninth-place finish in the 2023 LFL Spring Split.
He subsequently became the team's longest-serving member. He is not only a symbol of Karmine Corp's resurgence but also a driving force behind it. Because he joined from the French second division, many were initially skeptical of Caliste's immediate impact, but he quickly won everyone over with his skill.
With his exceptional mechanical skills and willingness to take on unexpected responsibilities, his arrival fundamentally changed the fate of Karmine Corp. Karmine Corp's rise to the top of the French league standings and their eventual LFL Summer Split title win saw Caliste earn the MVP award.
However, the French ADC's brilliance didn't stop there. A few weeks later, he won the inaugural EMEA Masters.
In August 2024, Caliste secured another championship, earning Karmine Corp their first international tournament – First Stand.
Despite occasional setbacks in First Stand, the prodigy's continued success led the team to the finals, marking the first time a European team had reached an international tournament finals since G2's defeat at the 2019 World Championship.
Although the team ultimately lost to Hanhwa Life Esports (HLE) in the finals, Caliste's outstanding performances earned him the Rookie of the Year award.
