Premier League – Hrafinberg scores, Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea draw

The 36th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season saw Liverpool, playing at Anfield, draw 1-1 with Chelsea after a goal from Hrafinbech, conceded a goal and were unable to regain the lead.

Two minutes into the match, Chelsea launched an attack. Cucurella passed the ball to João Pedro, who unleashed a long-range shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went wide of the post. In the 5th minute, Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai received the ball and shot, but his effort was blocked by an opposing player.

In the 6th minute, Ngumoha passed the ball back to Hrafinbech at the edge of the penalty area and fired a long-range shot into the net, giving Liverpool a dream start with a 1-0 lead.

In the 11th minute, Liverpool attacked from a corner kick. Szoboszlai chipped the ball into the penalty area, but the unmarked Van Dijk volleyed it high. In the 20th minute, Palmer played a through ball to João Pedro, who controlled the ball but his shot was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Mamadashvili.

In the 28th minute, Caicedo played a long pass, Cucurella controlled the ball and shot from inside the box, but it was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Mamadashvili. In the 35th minute, Chelsea won a free kick, and Enzo scored directly, leveling the score at 1-1.

In the 39th minute, Caicedo made a through pass from the center circle, and Enzo received the ball and entered the penalty area to shoot, but it was saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Mamadashvili.

In the 48th minute of the second half, Szoboszlai took a free kick, and McAllister headed the ball, but it went over the goal. In the 49th minute, Cucurella's cross was cleared by Van Dijk, and Palmer received the ball and fired a low shot into the net. However, after VAR intervention, it was determined that Cucurella was offside, and the goal was disallowed.

In the 53rd minute, Hrafinberg created an attacking opportunity, and Frimpong received the ball and shot, but the ball was caught by Chelsea goalkeeper Philipp Jorgensen. In the 58th minute, Szoboszlai sent in a cross, and Gakpo headed the ball across, allowing Jones to head it in from close range. However, Gakpo was offside, so the goal was disallowed.
