Fnatic reportedly considering selling the club..

Esports Insider reported on Saturday that a long-established European esports powerhouse Fnatic, is rumoured to be considering selling the club.

According to the report, this news initially came from Al Lío, a Spanish League of Legends esports podcast host, and was later confirmed by Dust2.

It is understood that shareholders of two football clubs have already contacted Fnatic's management and are in talks regarding a "full takeover" or a "acquisition of significant stake," one of which is a club from the German Bundesliga.

The report also said that since the talks began, Fnatic has suspended all plans to make roster changes to its League of Legends team. It remains uncertain whether its globally renowned DOTA 2 team and its once-glorious Counter Strike 2 team will also be affected.

Fnatic last made roster changes to its Counter Strike 2 (CS2) team in March.

At the time, they signed young Ukrainian rifler, Br4tkO, formerly of Lazer Cat, to replace Maden, who had been benched due to poor performances.

Fnatic, currently ranked 80th globally in VRS, was once one of the most envied top teams in CS2 esports scene. Their all-Swedish roster from 2014-2015, which won two Major titles, is still widely considered one of the strongest rosters in history and one of the most discussed teams.

However, unfortunately, with changing times and the loss of talent, Fnatic has now fallen to a team that struggles even to win B-tier tournaments. Their League of Legends team hasn't won a single LEC title since 2019.

Fnatic's most pride-worthy achievement in recent years is their VALORANT team. This division won several EMEA titles last year and even attracted a $100 million acquisition offer from an advisory firm, but the deal ultimately fell through.
